Also known as Oscar’s Grind, this is one of the youngest of the popular progressive betting
systems for even bets.
This system is based on short sequences of play where the object is to gain a profit of one betting
unit at the end of each sequence. The idea here is that players start with one betting unit.
You start the session with a certain unit of bet (eg $ 1). A victory means that the series is complete and you begin a new series with the same unit of bet (eg $1).
If you lose, you also keep the same unit until you win. When you win, you increase your bet by one unit (eg 2). This process continues until you reach a balance that not only you have recover your potential losses and have at least one unit of profit, from which the series is considered complete. You then restart the session with a basic unit of bet (eg 1).
This system was developed for small and consistent gains in a relatively short session.
We present an example of this system where a certain serie lasts for a couple of bets and also the Martingale System to a better understanding of the system (the smallest unit - 5 ):

In this example, the player wins 6 results of 12 and concludes the sequence with a gain of 9 via Oscar's Grind. By the Martingale system, the player would have have win 10 units, but he would have to bet up to 40 in one bet and total amount of betting would be of 140. With the oscar system he would not pass the value of 10 with a total amount bets of 82.
According to the myth, Oscar’s Grind was developed forty years ago by an American craps
player named Oscar who always came on top at the end of a play day.
This system is suitable for cautious players. When working with small stakes and small table
limits, this system can work out very well for beginners who want to pace themselves.
Of course, like with other progressive betting systems, here to the player needs to follow the
rules, and prepare a large enough bankroll, that won’t leave him hanging after a long series of losses. As always, quitting while ahead is a smart
move...
